ISTE Conference in Philly

We've just returned from ISTE's Unlocking Potential conference in Philly, and boy did we learn a ton more about all the newest products and services! Lots of very cool stuff—lots of new ways to accomplish the things we do! We caught up with our friends at SMART Technologies and eChalk, scoped out McGraw-Hill's new CINCH system (cloud-based textbook lessons), made some great new connections, met with some clients, and wandered the MASSIVE show floor.

There were amazing 3D visualization tools, rapid-prototyping displays, the latest in e-learning from Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt and Scholastic, developers both large and small, and so much more! We came away from the event with even more confidence in the direction that Robots and Cupcakes is headed in. We'll see you at the next big event!

The first YoPoweR! app is on the way...

Our next iPad app is only a month or two away! It's for the company YoMagination, a health and wellness education group that specializes in content for children who have autism, or who are naturally anxious. The first app of many, this story is a lighthearted, positive introduction to YoPoweR! with some interactive activities, including focusing and practicing deep breathing to help alleviate feelings of stress and frustration.

We'll keep you informed on it's release!

New R&C Site launched!

Robots and Cupcakes Shines at AEP

Part of the Robots and Cupcakes team attended the AEP Content in Context convention in Washington, D.C. this week as an invitee of SMART Technologies, the global leader in interactive whiteboards. We were part of SMART's presentation to attendees, highlighting the functionality of their new SMART Notebook publisher for Adobe InDesign. Our own Eric Murray wowed the crowd with a live demonstration of converting a printed product into a SMART Notebook lesson!

We met so many interesting people, from executives of large publishing firms to linguistic scientists to sole proprietors of new companies, it was almost overwhelming! We got a very strong positive reaction to our new marketing and branding efforts, and made some very important connections. SMART made a big splash with their announcement that they would be creating a web marketplace where companies can sell their interactive whiteboard lessons, and reach a far wider audience of users than would be possible otherwise.

It's a very exciting time for us, and we're looking forward to implementing the things we've learned in future projects. Watch this news blog for more details!

See you at AEP!

We're all spiffed up and ready to present at the conference! If you'll be attending, please be sure to stop by the SMART Technologies booth and say hello; Just look for this banner!

Don't miss our presentation at the same booth on Tuesday, June 7th at 5pm, along with Michelle Meehan (a Math teacher from Kenmore Middle School) and Emilio Bernabei (SMART Technologies). We'll be discussing SMART's Notebook publisher for Abobe inDesign plug-in, showing some of our work, and answering any and all questions about SMART table and board activities!

We hope to see you there!
